OM VAJRA KILI KILAYA SARVA BIGHANEN BAM HUNG PHAT ENGLISH – This Tibetan Buddhist mantra is most powerful for removing obstacles, destroying forces hostile to compassion, purifying both the mind and the spiritual pollution of this age, transforming negativity and sickness, bringing about wellbeing and enlightenment. When the great Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) first arrived in Tibet, the first transmission he gave to his 25 “heart disciples” were the practices of the Varjakilaya Tantra. Vajrakilaya is the yidam deity (ishtadevata in sanscrit) embodying the illuminated activity of all the Buddhas. Wrathful yet compassionate, He is the deity of the magic thunder nail, the kila, a device of the sharp adamantine point of dharmakaya, a wisdom forged through the power of one-pointed concentration. This ‘one-pointed’ focus is a concerted mindfulness on the unity and interdependence of all dharmas (destinies). This one-pointed focus is understood as ‘applying oneself fully’. Varakilaya is the wrathful manifestation of Vajrasattva, arising to purify the source of all suffering, which is ignorance.
