Amsonia in the Fall

A notable part of the garden’s Light Plate design is Amsonia. We have two types that have a big presence, threadleaf blue star (Amsonia hubrichtii) and willow leaf blue star (Amsonia tabernaemontana var. salicifolia). Chicago gets blustery in the fall - just when the Amsonia’s fluffy stems have turned golden with flecks of red.
