Bran Van 3000 - Grace (Love on the Block)

Pour ce premier vidéoclip, les membres de Bran Van 3000 ont remonté les images du grand film russe « Rusian I Lyudmila », issu du poème du même nom d’Alexandre Pouchkine. Réalisé par Aleksandr Ptushko en 1974, ce conte de fée épique a connu un énorme succès en Russie à l’époque avec 35 millions d’entrées au box office. Alors que les noces du prince Rouslan et de la fille du prince de Kiev bat son plein, la jeune mariée Lyudmila est enlevée par le vilain nain malfaisant Mernoire. Rouslan arrivera-t-il à sauver la princesse Lyudmila? En collaboration avec la Mosfilm Cinema Concern à Moscou, l’image de la pochette de l’album The Garden, sortie le 19 octobre dernier, est aussi issue de ce film, et met en vedette cette jeune princesse rebaptisée Grace par le Bran Van crew... « When you look hard enough, you’ll find a window, a window of Grace. Love on the block, that’s how we rock » Bran Van 3000’s first music video following the release of their new album takes images from Russian filmmaker Aleksandr Ptushko and his classic film Ruslan and Ludmila. Released in 1974, the movie was a box office hit in Russia, with 35 million tickets sold. Based on a poem by the great Alexander Pouchkine, the film’s epic fairy tale tells the story of a young bride kidnapped by a villainous dwarf. In collaboration with the Moscow Mosfilm Cinema Concern, the members of Bran Van 3000 rechristened her as « Grace » and featured her on the cover of The Garden. Grace (Love on the Block) is the first single from the Montreal group’s critically acclaimed new album The Garden, released on October 19, 2010.
