Pat Belliveau - Jazz Jam / Sitting In - Etiquette & Preparation
Veteran Saxophonist Pat Belliveau uses his own past experience as an example of how to approach and prepare for performing within an organized “jam“ scenario and/or sitting in. The goal should be putting your best foot forward at all times for the most positive musical experience possible. Here are some “do’s and don’ts“ to keep in mind when it’s your turn to “jam“ or to sit in.
Pat Belliveau started his formal musical training at the age of four and began playing the saxophone at age 12. He has an extensive performing background which has involved numerous performances at international jazz festivals and in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Montreal. In addition, he has toured throughout North America, Europe, Japan, and Panama, with a number of groups, including jazz quintet Quintonal, and the saxophone ensemble Saxoffonee, both participants at the Montreux International Jazz Festival. He has also performed at private functions
