Agnes Callamard is a human rights activist and scholar. She is the current Secretary General of Amnesty International and the Director of Columbia University’s project on Global Freedom of Expression. She has written extensively on human rights, women’s rights, refugee movements, and accountability, and has conducted human rights investigations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Between 2018 and 2021, she was the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions, and during her tenure, she led the inquiry into the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi by the Saudi regime. Philippa Thomas is an international journalist and academic, known for her high-profile career as a BBC television and radio presenter.
