Hood5six: Subversive Rite 4/6/2022 TV EYE Ridgewood, Queens New York

I’ve been to shows in Bushwick and Ridgewood for the longest, the first time I can remember was Defeated Sanity at the original Silent Barn almost a decade ago. My friend calls the two neighborhoods that boarder Brooklyn and Queens; “Ridgewick“ and occasionally “Bushridge“ for a laugh. We’d meet around Weirfield street and I’d always pass by the building that would become TV Eye when it was just an inconspicuous, seemingly unoccupied space no one felt like paying the exorbitant rent to. Someone eventually coughed up the cheese and turned the place into a bar that pays homage to Iggy Pop and the gritty side of 70s Rock/Punk. It’s in the bar’s name, borrowed from Iggy Pop’s 1977 live album of the same name. It’s good to have new places to gather for functions, especially after two years of the world being ravaged by the pandemic.
