It’s exquisite and so poweful! The original title for this piece is “Corynorhinus,“ which is a species of bats. But the alternate title is “Surveying the Ruins.“ Coincidentally, as I finished up this recording today, my husband and two older children were with 800 other volunteers in Midland, MI, helping to clean up from the massive damage caused by two dams failing on May 19. The one home they worked on had water up to about the 8ft level on their main floor, which left behind a foot of mud once it receded ( plus a toad, dead fish, and lots of nasty lake smell). The lake behind their house is completely drained. Their dock, swept away. “Surveying the Ruins“ is sadly what many families in Midland are doing.
