Why is aZLing4’s art so good? / Arknights Art Style Analysis

Aka a how to draw gacha characters part 4. aZLing4 is the illustrator of the characters in Arknights such as Pallas, Irene, Flint, and Firewatch (to name a few). I wanted to explore how muted colours and the detailed backgrounds are used in many of Azling4’s artworks, so here’s my notes of analysis of the elements of Azling4’s character illustration style I find fascinating.
