1950’s EAMES solar toy! The do-nothing-machine.

once again, the eames office people are way ahead of the creative game! this time it’s in the embracing of solar energy as an entertaining energy source. the do-nothing-machine was made as a design project for the alcoa “forecast“ design program in which america’s top designers were asked to design something special to be made of alumium. the eames office offered this colorful device, made for fun and education and powered by the sun.... enjoy the rare film footage, it’s another eames moment, fifty years ahead of it’s time. for more information on this eames moment, please see my vintage design website.
