The Third Lebanon War

This summer marks 10 years since the Second Lebanon War—the longest war experienced by Israel since 1948—which left in its wake severe devastation on both sides of the border. The ceasefire under UN Security Resolution 1701 was broken by Hezbollah almost immediately after its implementation in August 2006. Since then, Hezbollah has been gradually but intensively building itself into a more lethal and dangerous force, with new weapons, training and financing from Iran.
