Crackle Synthesizer by Michel Waisvisz played by Jan St. Werner

The Crackle Synthesizer consists of the components of three Crackleboxes. These can be linked by touching special conductive pads. Potentiometers are used to control the amount of controllability of this instrument. ’Minimum control’ means that the Crackle Synthesizer easily plays on its own for hours. The Crackle Synthesizer is a self-supporting instrument. With batteries, an amplifier inside and its own loudspeaker it can be played everywhere. Michel Waisvisz played his first USA tour in 1978 with this instrument. His debut LP ’Crackle’ was almost entirely performed on the Crackle Synthesizer. Mouse on Mars’ label Sonig released Waisvisz second album “In Tune“ which is nearly entirerly made of sounds by the Crackle Sythesizer.
