The concert will also feature excerpts from Charles’ Guggenheim Fellowship Project – Carnival : The Sound of a People, an exciting multimedia celebration of Trinidad’s Carnival. The music, composed by Charles, highlights the evolution of sonic elements of this most important cultural island ritual, including folk drumming, Tamboo Bamboo, Iron bands and Calypso.
