Enrique Soro - Andante Appassionato, Op.2

Long time ago I already uploaded a quirky composition by this composer (Caprice), but I was really astonished how melodic and romantic he also wrote. This piece is composed in 1901 and it seems to have a long story of development, which is written in Spanish on Imslp. I won’t copy it here. Soro (1884-1954) was another composer born in Chile. End of the century he studied in Milano, and later teached in the capital city of Chile, Santiago. There are some piano pieces by him and i see what is possible to play them and upload. What I just picked up from the Spanish article is that he was a well-known great improviser on the piano. This piece surely was influenced by some glimpses on Chopin’s music; that can be seen in the middle part, which reminded me of Chopin’s Impromptu No.3 middle part (this does not mean at all it must be like that). Also the beginning reminds of a classical Nocturne opener. But we are talking about a pure D flat major, so...
