The Los Angeles Lakers immortalized Kobe Bryant’s legacy by unveiling a 19-foot bronze statue outside Arena (former Staples Center) on February 8, 2024. The date 2-8-24, symbolizes the jersey number of Gianna, No. 2 and Kobe’s iconic jersey numbers 8 and 24. The 4,000 pounds statue shows Kobe Bryant in his No. 8 jersey with his finger raised, depicting the moment he scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors in 2006. It was the second-highest total in NBA history behind Wilt Chamberlain’s legendary 100 point game.
