Dr. Najibullah is one of the most cherished Afghan Presidents and is also said to be one of the “greates politicians and political thinkers of Asia in 20th century“. His precise prediction about the future events in Afghanistan and the world has brought him to spotlight in the political environment of Afghanistan even 12 years after his death. However, his popularity which came after his death is mostly among the common people. In 2006 his pictures were among the best selling poster in Kabul. An online survey conducted by an indepandent Radio stations in Kabul revealed that 92% of Kabul people are nostaligic about the times of Najibullah presidency. Explaining his popularity in Afghanistan a BBC reporter says: “On Kabul’s freezing winter streets Afghan urchins press smudged faces against car windows peddling photographs of Afghan leaders including Najibullah. Copies of his speeches now do a brisk trade in the market - they are admired by some Afghans for their wisdom and wit.“ (Lyse Do
