Ingredients:
Marinated chicken 600 grams
Rice 600 grams
Carrot 400 grams
Onion 2 pcs. or 150 grams
Garlic 1 head
Oil (any unflavored) 150 ml.
Zira, paprika, turmeric for pilaf color, bay leaf, salt and black pepper.
I cut the carrots into strips. Onions in half rings.
Zira is the main seasoning in pilaf.
Rinse the rice under running water. I wash the rice 7 times until the water runs clear.
This is what makes the rice crumbly in the dish. The liquid should cover the rice with a layer no larger than a finger, then it will be pilaf, not porridge.
