Taiwan ROC Leader Ma Ying Jeou Tried to Challenge Americans and Got Wrecked in 2014

The Sunflower movement took place from March 18 to April 30, 2014 when students and rioters occupied the Taiwan government district. The protest and occupation was to protest against Ma Ying Jeou’s cross straits economic treaty with China Mainland. Of course the foreign policy interests of the USA was against further integration of Taiwan and Mainland China also, so the USA went into overdrive to promote the movement. In April, the leaders of the Sun Flower Movement went to Washington DC and met with the National Endowment for Democracy representatives. On the second day of their visit they had a meeting with the State Department and spoke at a Congressional briefing with members of Congress and their staff. Of course this entire meeting was the curry favor from Americans to get moral and other forms of support. Yeah I totally believe that they just went out to have coffee together after flying 5000 miles right and to return with nothing tangible right? Isn’t it funny that also that as soon as this movement happened, American media like VOA and Voice of Free Asia went wild and gave coverage to the rioters non stop, portraying them as heroes?
