President Yoon boards US nuclear sub in Busan as tension mounts on Korean peninsula

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol boarded US nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine USS Kentucky in Busan on Tuesday. The docking of the submarine came days after a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was fired by Pyongyang on Wednesday. Nuclear-armed submarine deployment to South Korea on Tuesday is the first time in four decades, as the allies warned North Korea over the use of nuclear weapons in combat would end its regime. Tensions has mounted between the two countries after the arrival of the nuclear-armed submarine and frequent missile test launches by North Korea.
