Lone Pine California (200 Mile) Road Trip Ride Along and Buckle up and join me on an epic 200-mile adventure to Lone Pine, California. We’ll be crossing the vast, otherworldly Mojave Desert highways and dipping down to the lowest point in the US at Badwater, California, a staggering 282 feet below sea level. Feel the heat yet? From there, I cruise along Highway 190, making a pit stop at the legendary 20 Mule Team Historic Site. Ever wonder how they hauled all that borax back in the day? We’ll find out together. Next, we’ll tackle some scenic mountain passes and take a quick detour to Keeler to check out the End Of The Line Monument – an old historic train depot that’s sure to give you a glimpse of yesteryears. Then, it’s onward to the visitor center at US Highway 395 before we hit Lone Pine. Here, we’ll dive into the silver screen at the Hollywood Museum of Western Films. After soaking up some movie magic, we’ll pay our respects at the 1872 cemetery for earthquake victims – a somber but important stop. Our journey doesn’t end there, though! We’ll visit the Manzanar Historic Site, reflecting on the history of the Japanese during World War II. Finally, we’ll roll into Independence, California, to rest up for the night. It’s a trip packed with history, stunning landscapes, and a touch of Hollywood glam – you won’t want to miss it.
