NYC-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Adam Maalouf put together a series of acoustic performances for us in Brooklyn recently, leading the way with his instrument of choice: the Pantam (aka Hand Pan or Hang drum).
This third performance features a mesmerizing collaboration, with Camila Celin on Sarod and Ehren Hanson on Tabla. The song is entitled “Kirwani“ and is played in the Indian Raga with the same name.
Adam’s cross-genre style of music forms a common thread between the cultures of the East and West. Maalouf’s playing style represents the cross-pollination of diverse influences, including western classical, Jazz, Arabic, and Indian classical music. Adam is currently performing music from his electronic album “Path of Time”, as well as his global acoustic project “East River”.
