Trondheim 50. JULEMARKEDET

It’s a late afternoon on the first Sunday of Advent, and Trondheim’s festive spirit comes alive as the Christmas market opens its doors. Our drone journey begins over the sea, where peculiar plumes of mist rise from the water’s surface, a dance of nature’s breath upon the cold. We glide past a ship anchored offshore, its silhouette a testament to the maritime heart of the city. Sweeping back towards the city, the drone captures the transition from the serene sea to the lively urban landscape. The market awaits, a beacon of warmth against the chill of the Norwegian winter. As we approach, the glow of the market comes into view, with the market’s lights reflecting like stars fallen to earth. Descending over the city square, the scene unfolds below: the market is a whirl of colors and sounds. People, wrapped in their winter best, wander between stalls and lavvo tents arrayed around Saint Olaf’s column, their forms creating a living tapestry in the heart of Trondheim. Laughter and conversation meld with the scents of seasonal treats and pine. Our flight takes us through this mosaic of festive cheer, over the glow of string lights and the shimmer of ornaments, providing a unique perspective on a cherished tradition. As the drone makes its final pass, the city square with its blend of history and celebration is a sight to behold, a perfect culmination to a magical Advent evening.
