The first game was originally developed for the MSX2, a computer platform that was popular in Japan. It was moderately successful there, but became a massive international hit when it was ported to the NES, selling ONE MILLION copies! Konami, the company that developed the original game, wanted to repeat that success. However, many people, including series creator Hideo Kojima, felt that too many corners had to be cut to make Metal Gear work on the NES. This time Konami would design a Metal Gear game that would be built for the NES from the very beginning. The game they created, Snake’s Revenge, is an incredible addition to the Metal Gear franchise. In addition to the traditional sneaking around buildings, this game also includes exciting set piece missions where you’ll sink a ship and escape from a moving train! So how did Snake’s Revenge become the final Metal Gear game for the NES? In this week’s episode we’ll find out, then we’ll dive deep into the gameplay where we’ll learn: * Where to find EVERY WEAPON! Don’t miss any of them! * How to get through EVERY mission, and area! * The location of EVERY MISSING HOSTAGE! Rescue them all! * The SECRETS of SNEAKING - Stay hidden, and don’t alert the guards! * Where to find every ITEM and AMMO REFILL! * How to complete the frustrating SIDE SCROLLING LEVELS! * The SECRET to getting past the INSTANT DEATH PITS! * DATA on every WEAPON - from Punches to Plastic Explosives, you’ll know how much damage they deal and how much ammo you can have at each Rank! * How to get the game’s HIGHEST STAR RANK, and information about the benefits of each level! * DATA on ALL ITEMS! Rations, Boots, Armor Vests, and MORE! * The best strategies for defeating EVERY BOSS... even METAL GEAR itself!
