First All-Female Aircrew Completes NATO AWACS Mission

For the first time ever, a NATO AWACS mission sortie has been completed with an all-female aircrew. Aircrew from Canada, Denmark and Italy monitor the skies over Poland in their E-3A Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft. NATO’s Enhanced Vigilance Activities mission featured an all-female crew of 22 from eight NATO Allies: Canada, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal and the USA. The flight highlights female aviators and their contributions to NATO’s air defence.
