Inuksuit at the border

An excerpt from John Luther Adams’s percussion work Inuksuit, as performed on both sides of the US-Mexico border on Jan. 27, 2018, with an ensemble of sixty-five American and Mexican percussionists led by Steven Schick. Gabriela Jiménez, Rubén Hernández, Jorge Peña, and Iván Manzanilla participated on the Mexican side. The event was presented by the San Diego Symphony, as part of the It’s About Time festival (. 2018). This video, by Alex Ross, shows the view from Tijuana. More at
