Franciszek Lessel (1780 --1838) was a Polish composer. The variations op. 15 no.1 are on the Ukrainian song “Їхав козак за Дунай“, known in Germany as “Schöne Minka, ich muß scheiden“ (Beautiful Minka, I must depart). L. Berger, L. van Beethoven, J.N.
