Piano101: Gillock - Fountain in the Rain

William Gillock (1917-1993) - Fountain in the Rain Performed by Gintaras Januševičius Piano101 is a 2020 project by Gintaras Januševičius, paying tribute to some of the most beloved composers writing for the children. In his own words: “this is my way of saying “Thank you“ to those wonderful composers who inspired me and keep inspiring my students. These pieces awaken our imagination to create stories and images with sounds. Only joy can get us to spend countless hours at the piano, ultimately allowing us to reach the level of masters. Without these often uncelebrated composers who wrote our first pieces we could never make it on concert stages“. The project consists of 101 piano pieces by 101 composers, ranging from 16th to 21st centuries. To emphasize on the artistic and not merely educational side of the pieces, Januševičius doesn’t mention the expected level nor the methodical goals.
