Challenging PSG’s French Cup Supremacy | Football in Brittany

Ten years ago PSG began its domination over French football. Writing their name into most of the country’s national trophies. But in the Coupe de France, two clubs helped to reduce the Parisian hegemony, and save the beautiful game. Guingamp and Rennes. In 2009 and again in 2014 the two clubs faced off in the final, with underdogs Guingamp winning both. Then, in 2019 Rennes played Paris Saint Germain, becoming the only team to defeat the French giants in a cup final since the arrival of the Qatari owners. This is the incredible story of how a region, and its rivalry has retained the magic of the French cup.
