Angry rat hissing at my finger. He really wanted to bite me!

A few years ago, someone let me borrow a roof rat that she had rescued as a baby. He wasn’t very tame or friendly, a HUGE contrast with our own pet roof rats. He tolerated his owner, but got very upset if anyone else went near him. This is why you shouldn’t mess around with random, wild rats. They can bite and they have pretty sharp little teeth as you can see. Wild Norway rats are even worse, because they won’t even bother to hiss at your finger before biting it! And their teeth are much bigger, too. Our rats have come a long way from these wild ones. Bao Bao will let anyone hold and pet him, and you would have to pry his mouth open to see his teeth. I’d like to take all of the credit for that, but Roofy had a lot to do with it. She was a wild born rescue, just like this rat, but she always loved everyone she met, and would play with total strangers like a tiny kitty or puppy. #Shorts
