Danilo Gallinari on growing up in Italy

Danilo Gallinari has already become of Italy’s greatest-ever basketball players, which is an impressive feat considering soccer and Formula One’s reign as the most followed sports in the nation. Born and raised in the small town of Graffignana, Italy, just south of Milan, Gallinari grew up on a farm that he shared by other families in the town. Vittorio Gallinari, Danilo’s father and former professional basketball player in the Italian league, played basketball with Danilo growing up on a hoop at their home. His goal over the length of his career has been to grow an interest in basketball back in his home country.
