Born on June 16, 1934, with a career span of more than five decades on the stage and three on the silver screen, Kamala, the prime disciple of Natyacharya Vazhuvoor Ramaiah Pillai, is acknowledged as the foremost exponent of the ’Vazhuvoor Bani’, a style characterised by grace, finesse and aesthetic appeal.
Our host for the first season Ramaa Bharadvaj is an award-winning performer, movement-designer, folk-storyteller, acclaimed writer and arts-curator. After 31 years in the US, she moved back to India and currently lives in Bengaluru. Ramaa believes that every life is a story waiting to be danced or narrated, and that it should be lived with curiosity and expressed with humor!
