Episode 34 “Vanishing Breed” William Albert Allard. A Photo Book Walkthrough.

Welcome to episode 34. There are two reasons that I have started reading from and showing the works of other photographers. Reason number one is to expand my understanding of the depth and meaning of the photograph. Most often the forgotten or rather overlooked portions of a photo book are the words pen’d by the author of the images themselves, or possibly someone who knows them best. Without these words we can only guess the intention of the creator and we stand the risk of missing the message. Reason number two lies in the desire to resurrect works that may have previously been relegated to dusty book stores shelves or possibly a thrift shop where they have been discarded. It seems a shame to not recognize the work that people fought so hard to document. Today’s book is from photographer William Albert Allard. William was a celebrated National Geographic Photographer and a master in his own right. Here’s to you William for created such incredible work. https
