It’s an ancient belief that a new sun is born then, signaling a fresh start. But the song also reflects how we’re living now—chasing glamour, pleasure, violence, and simplicity, which leaves us feeling empty. During carnival, our true selves come out, showing our wild side. So burning the carnival symbolizes a new way of looking at ourselves, hoping for clarity.
