NJPW G1 Climax 33 Nights 1 and 2 Review: Shocks and Scares #g133 #g1climax33 #njpw The first two nights of the 2023 edition of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s G1 Climax saw a few shocking upsets and one rather scary moment. After a newsworthy press conference, there were many questions heading into the opening night of the G1 Climax 33. One was answered as two of the famed “Reiwa Musketeers“ faced off as Shota Umino took on Ren Narita. Will Ospreay got more than he bargained for with Taichi. Tetsuya Naito tried to get off to a great start against Jeff Cobb but found the big man wants to reclaim his throne as THE monster in New Japan. One of the scarier moments this year saw a match between Mikey Nicholls and Henare where shoot headbutts almost ended in tragedy. Meanwhile, old standards like Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii found out that it’s not only the young wrestlers who are out to prove a point. This is my review of night 1 and night 2 of NJPW’s G1
