‘Monumental embarrassment’: Joe Biden confuses China for Russia during speech

US President Joe Biden has made another public gaffe while delivering a speech at the Annual National Governors’ Association. During his speech, Biden confused China with Russia while recounting a story while serving as Vice President during Obama’s presidency. The story Biden recounted involved Obama asking the 81-year-old to get close to Chinese President Xi Jinping during a 17,000-mile flight. However, Biden’s alleged flight has been debunked numerous times by multiple news outlets. He first retold this story in 2021 and despite being proven false, Biden has told the story 21 times during his presidency. Joe Biden’s mental acuity has become a growing concern for the Democratic party following Robert Hur’s damning report, where he referred to Biden as a “well-meaning, elderly man”.
