I wrote this #song at a time I thought I was slipping back into #depression and old habits began to return, when really I was just not taking time for myself. I felt used by some people around me and since writing this song, I have removed such people from my #life because I choose positivity and #selfcare more. It is exhausting trying to be something you’re not when so many try to change you. It can be overwhelming so now I have taken back control of my career, I can’t wait to explore. I’m glad that as I turned 50 in January this year, I began this next part of my life with a new #confidence I’m not healed completely from my past but I don’t think any of us ever will be. All we can do is find our space in this world and cherish it. The opening shot is of the photo shoot in #paris for the #album artwork with my dear friend & photographer Philip Ducap. It is the only part of this #music video that is in colour because it was shot on my birthday week in Paris where I was spoilt rotten. I wanted the opening shot to represent the #love I have found for myself at turning 50, yes even with my ADHD, menopause & things not working like they used to, I am still ready to take on the world lol. Mostly it’s that my #story isn’t over yet, In fact, I am #stronger than ever. I hope this look at my life on and off #stage will show you how really #happy life is now and I hope my words will help anyone who may need to hear them.
