Welcome to the first Dungeon Synth Sunday of Spring, and the final edition of March, in which we depart with one last artwork from Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin, bidding goodbye to the ice and snows of the bitter months with his 1890 piece, ‘Winter’.
To mark the occasion in suitable musical style, I am bringing you another four-feature session this week, with three albums of exquisite, transportive, old-school dungeon synth, and a climactic flourish of new growth and blossoming vision to enter into the new season.
We begin our journey this week with Italy’s Nekroromancer, and his album from last year, Bok Xul – self-described as “Hist Filled Musick From Kronka Thatith”, this is a wistfully melodic series of tracks, shadowed with a sinister presence, that lurks with an eerie oppressiveness.
A beguiling album of dark magickal intrigue and suspense.
