‘Lost opportunity’: William Barr on Tim Walz being picked as Kamala Harris’ running mate

Former US attorney general William Barr says Minnesota Governor Tim Walz being picked as Kamala Harris’ running mate is a “lost opportunity” for the Democrats to “complicate life” for Republicans. This comes after the US Vice President this week named Mr Walz as her running mate for the 2024 US presidential election. “It speaks volumes about where the Democratic Party is that they picked this individual over other leaders like Josh Shapiro, the Governor of Pennsylvania, or Kelly of Arizona, which actually would’ve complicated life a lot for the Republicans,” Mr Barr told Sky News host Andrew Bolt. “In one sense, it’s a lost opportunity for the Democrats, but, personally, it does not give me confidence that this is a man who is ready to be president of the United States.”
