South Florida Sheephead Minnow: Cool Natives

I’ve discovered a large Sheepshead minnow colony at the local South Florida Estuary in Dania Beach. These guys were pretty aggressive when give some scallops. While called a minnow, this fish is actually a pupfish Cyprinodon variegatus. They are native to brackish waters, but there are reports of people keeping them in pure freshwater without any issues.
