Following Soviet liberation from Nazi Germany at the end of World War II and the establishment of the German Democratic Republic, many Soviet songs were translated and reused by the East German party and military such as “Katyusha“, “Warszawianka“, “Let’s Go!“, and “Moscow Nights“.
