How Urusei Yatsura Changed the Anime Industry

This is an in-depth look & review of Urusei Yatsura, a quirky series which helped shape the modern anime & manga landscape. We’ll also be looking at the life and work of its creator, Rumiko Takahashi, and her many influences on the Japanese animation industry through the decades, from Ranma 1/2 to Inuyasha and beyond. Regarding my pronunciation of Lum’s name: I only watched the English dub recently, before then I was taking Lum’s pronunciation from the Japanese pronunciation of “Ramu.“ (ラム) To me it sounded more like “Loom,“ so that’s how it came out in this video. But now I realize that’s different from the English pronunciation with the short u. From now on I’ll use the short u so everything lines up.
