Abandoned Church Somewhere in Appalachia:

Abandoned Church Somewhere in Appalachia: While working on another video today, I asked if there were any old buildings in the area of interest and I was shown a picture of the church in this video. I asked the lady if she would take me to it, so off we went to find it on a beautiful sunny December day. The only information I could find out was that it once was a black church and the town was once a thriving coal mining camp back in its day. The little town once held 6,000 residents, but when the mine played out, most of the locals moved to find work elsewhere leaving only 700 residents remaining today. As I walked around the church, I could imagine the many great services that must have been held in this little one room church over the years. I didn’t disclose the location of this church in the video in hopes of keeping this little piece of Appalachian history in its decaying but beautiful state of tranquility for those who watch close may just find a clue.
