Severni Srbi - Kralj Samo

- Према Фредегаровој Хроници из 7. века, који је најважнији писани извор за историју Франачке државе, Само је био краљ лужичких Срба. Валук, Самов савезник је био војвода у Карантанији. Сматра се да Валук није било његово име, него титула (Владика), али то није до краја утврђено. Дерван или Дрван је био српски кнез из племена Дрвановића. За њега се такође сматра да му то није било лично име ,него име племена из којег потиче, одакле је писац Фредегарове хронике знајући за српског кнеза уписао Дерван. Уз Сама као краља, Срби су поразили и Аваре и Франачку. - According to Fredegar’s Chronicle from 7th Century, which is the most important written source for the history of the Frankish State, Samo was the king of the Lusatian Serbs. Valuk, Samo’s ally, was the Duke of Carantania. It is believed that Valuk was not his name but a title (Bishop), but this has not been fully established. Dervan or Drvan was a Serbian prince from the Drvanović tribe. He was also thought to be not his personal name, but the name of the tribe from which he originated, from which the writer of the Fredegar Chronicle, knowing about the Serbian prince, enrolled Dervan.
