Francisco Lomuto - ’Nunca más’ (’Never again’) - 27-08-1931 Vocals by the duo Alberto Acuña & Fernando Díaz. This is the third of Lomuto’s four recordings of his own tango ’Nunca más’: instrumental versions in 1923 and 1927, this vocal version, and a second vocal version recorded in 1950 with the voice of Miguel Montero. Both vocal versions have the lyric by his brother Oscar, but this is not not the original lyric, which was written by Francisco Lomuto himself. This deals not with affairs of the heart, but with his near death when he fell ill in the summer of 1922-1923 working on a luxury cruise ship which took tourists from Buenos Aires down to Tierra del Fuego, and expresses the conviction that he will never work on such a voyage again. low bandwidth version (64kbps) for educational purposes
