How to Squeeze Blocked Femoral Pores in Bearded Dragons - Cookies Critters - Squeezing Clogged Pores

The reptiles that we breed are Central Bearded Dragons, Pygmy Bearded dragons, Knob tail geckos, and Northern Velvet Geckos. In todays video we are expanding on the previous video about blocked femoral pores in bearded dragons. Clogged or impacted pores need to be managed at home before they require medical treatment. It is important to do this in a conservative manner as to not cause unnecessary stress and pain to the bearded dragon. Squeezing the femoral glands too hard can also damage the gland and create long term health issues As we mentioned in our previous video, it is important to soak your beardie in a warm bath before trying to squeeze blocked femoral pores. Soaking the hard plugs will soften them making it easier to squeeze out. Follow the link to part 1 on femoral pores in bearded dragons. Corn starch or corn flour will stop any bleeding that may occur from squeezing the femoral pores and butadiene or iodine will prevent any infection.
