From the trance-like “Minimal Song” to the rock beats of “Crimson” all the way to the beauty of “Open Space I”: the two musicians have never been so melded. Only from this unity can diversity arise, a game of styles, harmonies, metrics that leads to reverberant compositions. Instead of combining the Xala with Marimba as was done before, Mats Eser plays the Fender Rhodes, an electric piano whose quality of sound blends well with the electro-acoustic version of Ania Losinger’s floor-xylophone, Xala.
