Prince Charles Virtually Opens New Memorial on D-Day 77th Anniversary

Prince Charles has opened the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer on the 77th anniversary of D-Day. The Prince of Wales spoke via video as he was unable to travel to Normandy because of the Covid-19 travel restrictions. Veterans and families who were also unable to attend were able to watch via video-link from the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. The British Normandy Memorial contains 160 stone columns inscribed with the names of the 22,442 people who were killed at the Battle of Normandy. It was built following fundraising efforts by D-Day veterans as well as contributions from the UK government. #PrinceCharles #DDay #RoyalFamily Report by Louis Etemadi.
