Erik Verwey trio - Casa de los Viecos (live @ Museum Beelden aan Zee)

In the Museum Beelden aan Zee pianist Erik Verwey plays ‘Casa de los Viecos’ together with his trio. Erik Verwey - piano/compositions, Daniel van Dalen - drums, Hendrik Mūller - double bass. Dutch pianist Erik Verwey plays compositions from his new CD ’People Flow’. For years Erik worked as a composer and accompanist of various successful theater and cabaret programs. But he always felt a great musical urge to write and play his own music. Preferably with his favorite musicians, in the tradition of the jazz piano trio. He formed this trio with drummer Daniel van Dalen, with whom he has been collaborating in various formations for more than 12 years. The German-born Hendrik Mūller, completes the trio on the double bass. On ‘People Flow’ Erik Verwey is inspired by his encounters with people. Erik took these encounters with him to his home on the river Amstel and translates people and places into music and that has resulted in this special debut album in which each piece forms
