Doggerland “No Sadness of Farewell“

In April 2017 Doggerland release their album “No Sadness of Farewell“ in on Gammalthea Records. It features this classic Richard Thompson song. Doggerland consists of Norwegian-Englishman Richard Burgess (vocals, concertina) and Swedish hurdy-gurdy player and guitarist Anders Ådin. They are joined here by Swedish fiddler Jenny Gustafsson, who also features on the album - along with the likes of Kevin Henderson (fiddle) from Shetland, Mats Edén (viol d’amore) and Fredrik Bengtsson (double bass, mandola) from Sweden. The new album also includes traditional material from Norway, Sweden and England, original songs and tunes and an uncompromising version of the Ewan MacColl song “The Big Hewer“.
