Working as a sideman or leading his own groups, he made some wonderful music, but never received the recognition he deserved. This is a great album. The mood is cool and remains constant on all eight tracks, reminds me of some early Desmond. One highlight worth a mention is the guitar work by Mundell Lowe, a wonderful compliment to Richie’s elegant sax.
