woodturning: giant, burnt goblet with copper inlay into log beech. This large goblet 27 cm high and 1.4 kg was turned into a log of green beech wood, from a forest bordering the sea on the North coast of Brittany. This wood has a dense and regular veining like many trees growing by the sea, which gives it this very particular aesthetic. Its color is naturally pink and has some brownish spots. The flame work naturally darkens the wood without chemical agent, and goes perfectly with the bright color of copper. A natural top coat with carnauba wax is applied to enhance the whole work.
